Addressing a press conference on the second day of his Gujarat visit, Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal attacked the BJP on a number of issues, including their 'false promises, intimidation' and 'lack of intent' to serve the people of the state.
Kejriwal, addressing a press conference in Rajkot, said the saffron party had recently attacked their Surat party member Manoj Sorathia while he was praying in a Ganesh pandal, and that he had suffered grievous injuries. But the AAP chief said the party would not be intimidated as it was 'different from Congress'.
"BJP should not forget that they are not dealing with Congresspersons anymore. We take Sardar Patel and Bhagat Singh as our ideals. We are not easily afraid or intimidated," he said.
Attacking the BJP's front of AAP furthering 'revdi' or freebie culture, Kejriwal retorted, "when they take free electricity it's not a freebie. If the public gets that, it becomes a freebie? The same services, perks which their MPs, MLAs and leaders enjoy, all we want is for the public to enjoy them."
Assembly polls in Gujarat are due by the year-end and the Aam Aadmi party has been campaigning heavily amidst a rivalry against the BJP that is thickening each day.
Kejriwal has made a number of promises if elected to power in Gujarat, which the BJP has attacked as 'freebies' to the public. The Delhi CM had on Friday made five "key promises" to farmers in Gujarat while addressing a rally at Dwarka town in the state's Saurashtra region. He said if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is voted to power, his government will procure wheat, rice, cotton, groundnut etc. at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The other promises include waiving farm loans, re-conducting the survey of agricultural land earlier conducted by the BJP government which will be scrapped and re-survey will be hold.
The Delhi Chief Minister had also reiterated to give stipend to unemployed youth and will create 10 lakh government jobs in one year. The AAP leader has appealed to give his party one chance in Gujarat.
In the latest media address, Kejriwal implored the ground workers of BJP to work for the Aam Aadmi Party. "You take money from them, because we don't have any, but help put out AAP's word and secure us victory, because that is in the true of interest of people," he said, that BJP would forget its promises to Gujarat public the minute it came to power.
